Hi, I am very happy to be in my 6th year as a counselor at Mountain Home Junior High.  Each year, I look forward to getting to know the incoming 7th graders and watching the 8th graders grow as they approach high school.  As a parent of students in the district, I know just how important the relationship that staff has with students can be.  I appreciate all of the caring adults my sons have encountered in the Mountain Home School District, and I try to be one of those people for our students at the Junior High.  You will find me in my office working one on one with students or conducting counseling groups, but you will also find me in the halls during passing periods and at student lunches just trying to get to know students and to encourage them.  I believe that every student has the ability to choose who they will become by the choices they make every day in spite of whatever circumstances they may be experiencing or whatever their other abilities may be; I encourage students every day to make choices that will help them become everything they want to be.

Hello! I’m excited to be joining Mountain Home Junior High School. I earned my bachelor’s in Social Work from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2020 and my master’s in Social Work from Walden University in 2024. I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in the state of Idaho, and I’ve been working in school systems since 2022.

My approach to counseling is grounded in a strengths-based philosophy. When students come to me with challenges, I like to focus on helping them identify their unique strengths and empowering them to apply those strengths to overcome obstacles and reach their goals.
